Privacy policy
Effective October 15, 2026 · Chimes In LLC, Florida
The short version: you don't need an account to use 24/7 Relay News, we don't use advertising cookies or trackers, and we don't sell or share personal information. Your preferences (the stories you follow, your topics, your place) are kept in your own browser, not on our servers. We count listening anonymously so we know how many people are tuned in, and we keep those counts as totals.
This policy covers 247relay.com, 247relaynews.com, our podcast feed, smart-speaker briefings and the TV view, operated by Chimes In LLC ("we", "us").
What stays on your device
When you follow a story, choose topics, set your place, or pick how Relay explains things, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to us as a profile. Some features send it with a single request so the page can be built for you (for example, the list of stories you follow when your briefing loads); we use it to answer that request and don't store it.
You can remove everything at any time with My Relay → Clear everything Relay saved here, or by clearing site data in your browser.
We don't set cookies for tracking or advertising.
What we collect
- Anonymous listening counts. Each browser tab gets a random session code that disappears when the tab closes. While you listen, your tab checks in every 30 seconds so we can estimate how many people are tuned in, and we count plays of each show, station ID and advertisement. Counts are stored as daily totals.
- Approximate area. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) tells us the approximate city and region of a connection. We use it to show local weather and headlines and to count listeners by state or region. We don't store your IP address with this, and we only show regional figures to our team when at least five listeners are in a region.
- Abuse protection. For forms such as the sponsorship store, we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address for about an hour to limit repeated requests.
- If you contact us or book a sponsorship: your name, business, email, website and the message you submit, plus a record of the order. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical information (IP address, browser type, time of request) to deliver the site and keep it secure, and retains it for a short period under its own policies.
How we use it
- To run the live channel, briefings, local weather and alerts you ask for.
- To understand, in aggregate, which programs people listen to and where our audience is, so we can improve programming and set fair sponsorship prices.
- To process and deliver sponsorships, keep business records, and meet legal obligations.
- To protect the service from abuse.
We don't build individual profiles, don't use your data to target advertising, and don't use it to train AI models.

Your choices and rights
You can clear your preferences yourself at any time. Because we don't keep accounts or profiles, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. If you've contacted us or booked a sponsorship, you can ask to see, correct or delete that information by emailing us; we'll respond within 45 days, and we may keep records we must retain by law. We won't treat you differently for making a request.
We honor Global Privacy Control signals; since we don't sell or share personal information, there is nothing further to opt out of. Residents of states with privacy laws, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and Florida, have these rights to the extent those laws apply to us.
Children
24/7 Relay News is a general news service and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. The sponsorship store is for businesses and adults only.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limit who can reach our control room, keep as little data as possible, and delete it on the schedule above. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affected your information, we would notify you as the law requires.
Visitors outside the United States
Our service is run from the United States and data is processed there and wherever our providers operate. We collect the minimum described above for every visitor.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we'll say so on the homepage before it takes effect.
